I allowed ActiveEarth 3.0 to run after installation and it crashed. What's going on?
On some systems, after installing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 update, a reboot is required. Please reboot and then try running ActiveEarth again.
What are the minimum system requirements of ActiveEarth 3.0?
ActiveEarth 3.0 will run on either Windows Vista or Windows XP (SP2 or greater). ActiveEarth will run best on a Windows Vista system because Vista uses the system's video card for graphics rendering, while XP uses the main CPU.

ActiveEarth 3.0 runs best on a system with the following requirements:
- Pentium 4 or above (Core Duo or better recommended)
- 1.8 GHz or greater
- 512 MB RAM (1024 or more recommended)
- Windows Vista (or Windows XP with some minor limitations)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (this is an extra download during the installation process until Microsoft makes it part of Windows Update)
I have ActiveEarth 1.x or 2.x, why would I want ActiveEarth 3.0?

Is there an upgrade path to ActiveEarth 3.0 from previous versions of ActiveEarth?

Why does ActiveEarth 3.0 need access to the Internet?
ActiveEarth will access the internet for four things; one-time product key registration, periodic product update checks, accessing weather data, and performing geographic searches. In order to provide these features, and if you use a personal firewall program, please allow internet access for ActiveEarth.exe. No personal information whatsoever, except the actual product registration key, is transmitted at any time.
What happened to the time synchronization feature?
ActiveEarth 3.0 does not contain internet time synchronization. Both Windows Vista and Windows XP contain built-in time server synchronization features.
What happened to the ActiveEarth Desktop Clock application?
The features of the Desktop Clock application have been integrated into ActiveEarth 3.0. You can "float" a clock on the desktop by selecting that option from a clock's right-click menu. If you purchased the Desktop Clock appplication or the ActiveEarth 2.x Full Bundle, you will receive an extra discount on the ActiveEarth 3.0 product bundles.
