ActiveEarth 2.0 runs best on a system with the following requirements:

• Pentium 4 or above
• 1.5 MHz or greater
• 256 MB RAM (512 recommended)
• Windows XP
• Internet connection required for time synchronization 

ActiveEarth is a .NET application and can therefore run on any Windows system. However, it will run best on newer systems with Windows XP.

ActiveEarth 2.0 offers a great, new look and these key features that are not found in ActiveEarth 1.x:

• Screen saver
• Scheduled time synchronization
• Multiple map projections - including a globe
• Updated earth images with more detail
• Countdown clocks with alarms
• Multiple clock styles with custom settings
• Fully resizable clocks, graphs, and charts
• More accurate calculations
• Updated world-wide time zone data (there have been many changes since the 1999 release of AE 1.x)

If you are a legitimate ActiveEarth 1.x customer, we have a record of your transaction. Contact us by clicking the "Contact the ActiveEarth Development Team" link on this page and send us your original AE 1.x license key and the email address with which it was originally registered, and we can provide an upgrade.

ActiveEarth will access the internet for three things; one-time product key registration, time-server synchronization, and periodic product update checks. In order to provide these features, and if you use a personal firewall program, please allow internet access for ActiveEarth.exe and for ActiveEarth.scr. Scheduled time synchronization is performed when the main ActiveEarth program or the screen saver is running. No personal information whatsoever, except the actual product registration key, is transmitted at any time.
